RULES:
Major components (such as walls and roof) must be made of gingerbread. Gingerbread houses can be decorated with unwrapped candy or other edible embellishments. Caulking, gluing, spraying, or preserving may be used but must be covered by edible material. The base must be completely concealed with an edible material.
Houses may not contain any food item that needs refrigeration.
We cannot accept structures made with egg or butter icings as they can quickly turn rancid and compromise the durability of the house.
Pre-made gingerbread house kits are allowed.
Entries must be dropped off at the Olde Towne Depot between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13. For judging purposes, please write your name on the underside of the base. Upon arrival, please have your name and gingerbread house title on visible separate signage for display purposes following judging. Title/name cards will be removed during judging, so please make this a separate piece.
There will be a “People’s Choice Vote” again this year. Voting will be from Saturday, December 13 – Friday, December 19.
All entries will be judged based on overall appearance, originality, creativity, and precision.
Entries will be on display Saturday, December 13 – Saturday, December 20. Winners will be announced on Saturday, December 20. Gingerbread houses left at the Olde Towne Depot after December 20 will be disposed of. The winner of each category will be contacted after the judging.
